But in the following instructions I do not commend you, because when you come together it is not for the better but for the worse (1 Corinthians 11:17).
And at the end of seven days, the word of the Lord came to me: 17 “Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel. Whenever you hear a word from my mouth, you shall give them warning from me. 18 If I say to the wicked, ‘You shall surely die,’ and you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, in order to save his life, that wicked person shall die for[a] his iniquity, but his blood I will require at your hand. 19 But if you warn the wicked, and he does not turn from his wickedness, or from his wicked way, he shall die for his iniquity, but you will have delivered your soul. 20 Again, if a righteous person turns from his righteousness and commits injustice, and I lay a stumbling block before him, he shall die. Because you have not warned him, he shall die for his sin, and his righteous deeds that he has done shall not be remembered, but his blood I will require at your hand. 21 But if you warn the righteous person not to sin, and he does not sin, he shall surely live, because he took warning, and you will have delivered your soul (Ezekiel 3:16-21).”
But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, so that the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any one of them, that person is taken away in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at the watchman’s hand. 7 “So you, son of man, I have made a watchman for the house of Israel. Whenever you hear a word from my mouth, you shall give them warning from me (Ezekiel 33: 6-7).
This blog post will be relatively short (that is, for a Ricky Kyles blog post). It will be because I will be attending the 11 AM service at my Church, and it is currently 9:24 AM CST here in Cibolo, TX. My first inclination was to craft a flowery exhortation about the majestic nature of the Resurrection, but I quickly realized that is not what is so desperately needed, even on such a solemn and sacred day. To be sure, the majestic nature of the Resurrection needs to be communicated, and I am positive others will do a brilliant job of detailing in artistic excellence all about the most defining moment in human history.
When musing about what I would write, I came to the sober realization that my beloved late mother was in error when she repeatedly admonished me, “if I did not have anything positive to say, then say nothing.” While that advice might be sound in most cases, it is certainly not true in all cases. It is not a task I am necessarily thrilled to fulfill but it is a task I believe to be part of my gifts and callings so proceed I must.
I write this Resurrection Sunday, about my community which, contrary to the absurd claim of my dissenters, a community I love dearly, is on a direct crash course to eternal damnation. I wish I did not feel compelled to write as I do, but the reality of the landscape of the professing African American Evangelical Visible Church grows all the more alarming by the day.
Case in point:
Due to out-of-control shoplifting, Walgreens has decided to close five stores in the California area. A Democratic initiative because the Democratic legal authorities in California has consciously chosen not to prosecute certain misdemeanor crimes. CNN broadcasted an utterly depressing news story about how a man stuffed his pockets with store merchandise in full observance of everyone in the store. Even as a store employee politely asked the shoplifter to leave the store, the shoplifter continued to steal more and more as he slowly exited the store. This is a direct consequence of Democratic Party ideology, not Republican.
The artist Lizzo was the host of Saturday Night Live (SNL) just last night. Say what you want about my choice of television viewership, but I have loved SNL all of my life. I watch it each Saturday night, or at least I watch as much as I can before falling asleep. I am not a prude, but I could not stomach Lizzo. She boasted, without any sense of embarrassment, about her unbridled use of the b – – – -h word and her wanton lack of modesty. She did so brazenly while her mother was in the audience. She even directly referenced that her mother expressed her disapproval until Lizzo became rich. This is consistent with the liberal mindset of “anything goes because you are free to be you without any fear of judgment.” This is ideology from the Left, not the Right, from below, not from above.
If this is not a direct application of Jeremiah 6:15, I do not know what is. Jeremiah 6:15 says, “Were they ashamed when they committed abomination? No, they were not at all ashamed; they did not know how to blush. Therefore they shall fall among those who fall; at the time that I punish them, they shall be overthrown,” says the Lord.”
I spoke with a female Evangelical Sister in Christ about what I witnessed NBC broadcasting for public consumption. She recounted how she knew women who should agree with her say they like Lizzo because they like her confidence. I turned the dial and thankfully was asleep before 11:10 PM. Miss me with this pagan, God-hating, female liberation.
I really need to cut this one short, so I will end with former President Barack Obama. President Obama still retains almost universal acclaim in the African American community. That should not and is not a surprise to anyone. Okay, granted, but my only vexing query is why he still retains, and even for that matter, why he ever had almost universal approval from professing African American Evangelicals.
At the time of his presidency, former President Obama was the most liberal supporter of Abortion in U.S. history. Of course, he has been since dwarfed, first by Hillary Clinton and subsequently by current President Joseph Biden since then, with no expectation of any curtailment from the Left in the future.
It was President Obama who was the sitting POTUS who authorized his Solicitor General to go before the U. S. Supreme Court and argue for the legalization of same-sex marriage as the Law of the Land in all fifty states. Remember, then-President Obama disclosed to the American people as he ran for re-election his understanding of marriage had evolved over time. A position he had to take after originally supporting the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) signed into law by former President William J. Clinton.
It was President Obama who authorized his Education Department to issue what came to be known as the Dear Colleague Letter, which informed all public institutions of learning that in order to continue to receive federal funds, bathrooms had to be made available according to the person’s preferred gender choice instead of the gender assigned to them at birth.
None of these positions align with the Bible. In fact, they openly and explicitly are in direct rebellion with what God reveals as a manner to facilitate human flourishing. Yet, the vast majority of African Americans in particular but vast others in general, will attend Church at the apex of Christian Liturgy, all without the ability to blush for their complicity in the moral and sexual debasement of this increasingly more and more debased generation.
I would submit many will attend the most glorious event in the Evangelical Calendar all for naught because the biblical demand is still in effect. God seeks only though who worship Him in Spirit and Truth.
There is no worship of Almighty God when your politics align with men and women who affirm:
I could say more. I have said more. I will continue to say more. Yet, I must bring this one to a close. You see, I am going to Church to worship in Spirit and Truth.
All with fear and trembling but with a clear conscience.
