Where have all the Men gone? Better yet, where have all the Biblical men gone? It seems with alarmingly increasing frequency we see Biblical Manhood being eroded right before our very eyes.
We see this in the mainstream media. We see it in popular culture. We see it in everyday life, and more and more, we see it displayed in the professing Church.
*Last year, Max Lucado spoke at the National Cathedral in Washington D.C. He preached against the practice of homosexuality. So far, so good. Not so fast, because when the Left expressed their disapproval of Lucado, instead of holding his ground because of the Bible’s clear and explicit teaching, Pastor Lucado apologized with a total mea culpa. Lucado is probably still pleading to appease the LGBT+ community as I write this blog post.
*This past June, Christian singer-songwriter Matthew West capitulated to the radical Leftist mob for writing a song celebrating his daughter’s decision to dress modestly. Instead of being hailed and praised for positive parenting West was accused of shaming young females for their decisions to dress provocatively. Instead of West courageously standing up to the social media, goons West folded like a cheap suit.
West penned the catchy phrase “Modest is Hottest,” and the song top off and became a hit. But that sentiment was deemed out of bounds by the Radical Left. The Radical Left postulated that any restriction of female expression suppressed female’s ability to display sexual liberation. Another golden chance by a professing Evangelical squandered because Matthew West could not apologize fast enough when the going got tough.
*This past week saw Josh McDowell become the latest casualty of Cancel Culture. McDowell was criticized and forced to execute the “Walk of Shame” for the following outrageous quote:
“I do not believe blacks, African Americans, and many other minorities have equal opportunities. Why? Most of them grew up in families where there is not a big emphasis on education,” stated McDowell at the weekend gathering.
McDowell went to say, “You can change the world. If you work hard, you will make it. So many African Americans don’t have those privileges like I was brought up with.”
For this, McDowell tragically felt the need to repent. Listen to some of what he had to say in response to the backlash:
In his statement Wednesday, McDowell called his remarks “wrong” and caused “deep pain.”
For this supposed polemic and hateful speech, McDowell has voluntarily decided to step away from his ministry. I do not know what outrages and angers me more—the ridiculous response from the Radical Left OR McDowell’s lightning-fast retreat:
Please take note of the outrage from those from the African-American Academic elites:
*Central Baptist College Professor Aaron New was among those outraged by the comments, taking to Twitter to note that he was “kinda stunned” by McDowell’s remarks. “Apparently he also claims ‘social justice is our next epidemic,'” ” tweeted New.” “[McDowell, can] you confirm and/or explain? Because this is […] absolutely horrible.”
Grove City College Professor Warren Throckmorton wrote in a blog entry Sunday that McDowell “completely ignored the actual reasons for lack of equity in opportunity.” “He spent the first 10 minutes of his AACC speech blasting the concept of structural impediments to equity. So Mr. McDowell, what is the reason for lack of equal opportunity?” stated Throckmorton. “I hope this incident will be a teachable moment for white evangelicals who have mindlessly accepted the word of their talking heads about CRT.”
Lastly, just last Friday, someone circulated a copy of an upcoming Time Magazine edition that has Prince Harry and his wife Meghan on the front cover. The byline reads, “THE WORLD’S MOST INFLUENTIAL PEOPLE.” The cover photo has Meghan in the forefront with Harry to her rear with his loving, and reassuring hand placed oh so gingerly on Meghan’s left shoulder
If you do not see the issue with this photo, then; you, my friend, are part and parcel of the problem. The expression used to be “behind every good man is a good woman.” That is archaic and outdated. Now, we must embrace the notion that “behind the good woman is a good man.”
Y’all go ahead and embrace this audacious and God-hating lie from the Adversary. I will never be surprised when the World acts like the World, but why am I continually seeing the Church not being the Church.
Does the Church not remember Jesus Christ when he said,
No man can enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man, and then he will spoil his house. (Mark 3:27)
It is one thing if the World renders the Church inept by force. That day is coming as the Bible prophesizes in Holy Scripture. But what we are seeing is an inside job. The Church is voluntarily rolling over and playing dead.
Again, I ask of you: where have all the Men gone, and AGAIN, where have all the BIBLICAL Men gone?
What will be next? No, who will be next?
My fellow Evangelical, at some point, ALL of us will have to answer the call?
Even more important is how will the Evangelical Men answer the call.
Even more, pressing is how will YOU answer the call?
The most pressing yet is how will I answer the call?
The track record of recent times has not been inspiring to say the least.
